Hey there!
What’s Coming Up?
As fall approaches, many of you are thinking about new headshots, updating branding photos for your businesses, or capturing personal milestones with the people you love. I’m booking remote sessions for all of those—so if you’re ready to step in front of the camera, but you’re feeling a bit of anxiety, I’ve got your back! You can find out how my remote photography process can make things easier on the Get Unstuck Sessions page.
Pro Tip of the Month: How to Build Camera Confidence
- Focus on feeling your best, not looking "perfect". Choose clothes you actually like to wear (comfort matters more than trendy). You’ll be surprised how much this boosts your mood and helps your real self come forward in photos.
- Try the mirror talk trick. Spend a few minutes practicing smiles and expressions in the mirror the night before your shoot. Make a goofy face or try what feels natural—sometimes, the best poses come from just playing!
- Bring a prop or something meaningful. A favorite mug, book, scarf, or even your pet can give you something to do with your hands, break the ice, and capture more authentic photos.
- Breathe and take your time. Deep breaths before and during your session make a world of difference. I always guide the pace to keep things relaxed—there’s truly no rush, and every session is shaped around what feels comfortable for you!
- Remember, it’s about connection. If you’re doing brand photos, think about your audience and what you want them to feel. If it’s a personal session, focus on celebrating this chapter of your life. That intention will shine through (and make the photos so much more meaningful).
